Our Story
After twelve years in the long day care setting, I've seen how children can become just a number, lost in the impersonal nature of large, profit-driven centers. Their voices go unheard, their needs unmet, their learning interrupted, and their potential overlooked. This is not what I was trained or called to do, I said to myself, there must be better way, the children deserve better, so I decided to collaborate with another equally passionate educator, Angie, to open a boutique service that truly allows us to implement a pedagogy that embodies the art and essence of learning, nurturing our most deserving future citizens.
Our Purpose
Education and pedagogy are at the heart of what we do. As our name suggests, we are here to discover "A Hundred More" ways children express themselves, explore, and make sense of the world around them. Our mission is to provide a nurturing environment where children can explore, learn, grow and be themselves. We aim to foster a love for learning, independence, and curiosity in each child. We invite you to join us on this beautiful journey of growth, connection, and wonder, where every child is seen, heard, and supported to flourish in their own unique way.
Our Philosophy
At A Hundred More Family Day Care, we are deeply inspired by Loris Malaguzzi’s poem “The Hundred Languages of Children,” which lies at the heart of the Reggio Emilia philosophy. This approach recognizes that children have countless ways to explore, interact with, and make sense of the world. We believe there are even more possibilities—limitless ways to honor a child's innate curiosity and potential. Our name, A Hundred More, reflects this belief and our commitment to discovering these “hundred more” ways. We strive to create an environment where children are viewed as capable, curious, and full of potential, always ready to embrace new paths to learning and growth.
